About
From the time I was a little girl, I knew I was called to the nations. Any time we had a guest missionary speak at our church, my heart was filled with compassion and I was moved to tears. I knew that one day I would be the one standing in front of churches, sharing God’s heart for the nations. I’ve been blessed to minister in 17 nations. But at the age of 20, God specifically put Africa in my heart. At the age of 21, I made my first trip to Kenya.
Walking off the plane I knew that Africa was home. From that first experience 10 years ago until now, I’ve had several opportunities to not only minister and travel to Africa but also to live there. Each experience further prepared me for the future God had in store. While living and working in an orphanage in Kenya, I learned the impact of little things: the power of a hug, a smile, a prayer. The difference we can make in a child’s life is not just about the big things; it’s the little touches and simple acts that show God’s love. Several years later, while living in South Africa, I had the opportunity to go into the high schools and villages to educate students about AIDS, as well as share God’s plans and purposes for their lives. I learned it wasn’t enough just to give them the facts; they needed hope.
In September of 2008, while ministering in Uganda for the third time, my path crossed with a young man whose heart’s passions were the same as mine. Churchill Ogolla is the Youth Pastor for Pastor K.L. Dickson’s 10,000-member church and preaches youth conferences around the country. As we began to get to know each other in the months following the trip it became apparent that he had a heart for the youth and children of Uganda, and for all the nations of the world. It’s amazing how God creates that special someone for us to spend our lives with; someone with the same heart, the same call, and the same passion. Before the end of the year, we knew that we would be ministering in Uganda as husband and wife.
I’m excited about God’s plans for our future and all that God has in store for the nation of Uganda. Thank you for your partnership with Churchill and me.
